National Marriage Rally today: protecting our children and their future!

Just a reminder that the National Marriage Day is on today, starting at 11am at Parliament House.

Particularly timely as the ACT Government threatens to reintroduce Civil Partnerships legislation with the support of the Greens (it was passed previously, but overruled by the Federal Parliament), while Tasmania and South Australia are threatening to attempt to legalise same sex marriage.

And then of course there are the Federal Bills on the same subject still in play...

Sexualising our children: the Target protest

And on a not entirely unrelated subject, you might also want to join the protest against Target stores for their outrageously inappropriate range of children's clothing.

A friend actually mentioned his wife's outrage to me on this subject last week, after an attempt to buy clothes for their daughter there.  Seems she was far from alone in her reaction, after a Port Macquarie woman posted this on Target's facebook page:

''Dear Target, Could you possibly make a range of clothing for girls 7-14 years that doesn't make them look like tramps … You have lost me as a customer when buying apparel for my daughter as I don't want her thinking shorts up her backside are the norm or fashionable.''

Her post has garnered thousands of supporters, and at least some reaction from Target...

Let the fightback begin!
