Pugin is best known perhaps for designing Big Ben (now to be renamed the Elizabeth Tower in honour of the Queen) and contribution to the English houses of Parliament. But his most intriguing legacy, and certainly an absolutely fascinating story, arguably lies in the gifts he sent out with Hobart's first bishop to help set up the diocese, including church designs, vestments, altar vessels and gravestones.
The documentary, which is available on Iview up until next Sunday, is a really fascinating look at the history of those gorgeous Tasmanian churches (as well as some nice glimpses and sounds from a lovely liturgy).

Thanks for such a great coverage of the Mass, Kate. Beautiful pics. You really did justice to the whole topic of Pugin..
Dear Kate,
Big Ben is the bell in the tower - I can't imagine that Pugin designed it!
God bless, Fr Adrian-John M, ofm conv.
Thanks Father but the wikipedia is on my side! It says:
"Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and is generally extended to refer to the clock and the clock tower as well."
