The cause of good bishops...

And, for your 'what a load of nonsense' file, the latest offering by Barney Zwarz of The Age, fed by Paul Collins, claiming that a private survey aimed at helping to select future bishops might breach Australian employment discrimination laws (as well as having the, from his perspective, unfortunate side-effect of reducing the prospect of liberal leaning appointees).  Please pray for good bishop appointments!

**Fr Z has given Mr Zwarz's article the treatment.  And there is a particularly heartening ("The future of the Australian Church is hope-filled it will be one of orthodox fidelity to the true faith and one that will no longer tolerate dissenting, heretical nut cases that claim to be the voice of the Church") and depressing (viz, "We have to be silent about our traditional preferences until we are ordained or we risk being turfed out of the Seminary.") response from an Australian seminarian calling himself 'Vivaldi'.

Does the so-called ban on discrimination on the basis of appearance mean Victoria is full of 22-stone acne-ridden fashion models? I suspect not.Not only the law, but increasingly its practitioners, are asses.
