- Christians in Iraq. You might recall that the ACBC recently put out a statement asking for the intercession of Our Lady for the situation there. Just why Catholics should be concerned is drawn out in Sandro Magister's latest post, focusing on the systematic attempt of Islamic forces there to drive out all Christians, and the Pope's intervention on the issue - do go and read it;
- Christians in Pakistan. Earlier reports of the release of the Christian woman accused of blasphemy proved premature, with the courts there intervening to prevent the President issuing a pardon pending the hearing of an appeal on her case. They are also trying to prevent the Government from actually changing the blasphemy laws. Meanwhile, the Taliban have put out a fatwa on the Catholic Government Minister there who is working on behalf of minorities to have the law changed....;
- bishops in China, being forcibly brought to the capital to attend a meeting including State appointed and controlled 'Catholic' bishops;
- Christians and Muslims in Aceh, Indonesia, harassed by "sharia vigilantes".
