Islamic terrorists attacked a Catholic Church during Sunday Mass yesterday, immediately gunning down the priest, and taking another fifty people hostage.
Reports say that up to 25 people were killed in the subsequent shoot out between Us and Iraqi troops, and Al-Qaeda linked gunmen.
Details are still unclear but this Sydney Morning Herald has this report, which omits any mention of the priest's fate. The UK Telegraph gives much higher casualty figures. Jihad Watch offers some useful commentary on the poor media coverage of the event.
Please pray for the repose of the souls of the dead.
**Update: The latest reports say that three priests were among the 52 killed and many more of the 120 held hostage were wounded in the attack.
