Year for Priests - Conference for priests and prayer list

For priests

To celebrate the upcoming year for priests, the Australian Confraternity of Catholic Clergy and the (American) Confraternity of Catholic Clergy are holding a joint conference in Rome, January 4 – 8, 2010.

The 2010 meeting will be held near the Vatican at the Casa Pastor Bonus and is open to any Catholic priest and deacons from any English speaking country of the world. According to their press release, "National Chairman, Rev. Michael Kennedy, PP, (Australia) and President, Rev. John Trigilio, Jr, PhD, (U.S.A.) enthusiastically urge their members to honor Pope Benedict’s Year for Priests by coming to Rome in January 2010 to spend time in prayer, study, and sacerdotal fraternity." More information can be found at the website for the conference.

The conference organisers are expecting to confirm some important and interesting speakers shortly!

For all of us - pray for our priests

I've mentioned previously the idea of a more systematic effort to pray for the priests who regularly or occasionally say the Extraordinary Form for this Year of the Priest. We are in the ordination anniversary season now, and I thought it might be nice to construct up a prayer list which I could either put up on a sidebar, or perhaps posts highlighting each priest on the relevant day, or both (I'm open to suggestions)!

So if you would like to seek the prayers of those who read this blog (if you are a priest or deacon!), or to have a priest remembered in our prayers, please send me the name and date of ordination, and ideally a photos and/or some biographical information (but name and date is the main thing!). You can either add it is as a comment to this post, or email me at australiaincognita@gmail.com.

Fr Ray Blake

And on priestly anniversaries, please pray for blogging priest Fr Ray Blake of St Mary Magdalene's, UK who today celebrates his silver Jubilee of ordination with a Solemn Mass in the Exatraordinary Form.
